Green Halloween is a national movement towards a healthier Halloween and more earth friendly holidays. Promoting 'creativity over candy' and 'community over consumption' the Green Halloween movement is growing around the country with neighborhoods everywhere coming together for celebration and a sustainable future.

Fighting childhood diabetes and obesity through art and fun, Green Halloween demonstrates an alternative vision for a holiday where children are engaged at the earliest stages of socialization. Shifting the emphasis from the acquisition of large ammounts of processed sugar candies, Green Halloween promotes healthier treats, artistic 'treasures' and the more creative and theatrical elements of the holiday - bringing together people of all ages.

Green Halloween NYC is the product of the merging of Green Halloween® - a Seattle based program with a national following, with Healthy Halloween®, a New York based program of non-profits Action Arts League and Dr. Mehmet Oz's HealthCorps®.

In NYC, we have four related events including a community festival, a float in the Village Halloween Parade, a gala parade afterparty and a costume bazaar.
